How much is enough?

I'm backkkkk, It's been 4 months since I last post something.

I guess it's a good thing (in a way) that I haven't post often. I tend to write a lot when I'm sad, it's sort of cathartic to let things out.

This blog will be a little less polished. English isn't my first language, so I do admit that I use AI to check my grammar and hope my thoughts makes sense. I do think in asian so some stuff just doesn't translate well to english.

I want to start out the new year by asking, "If you can ask for however much money you want, how much will you ask for?" "How much is enough"? I'd like to say the more the better of course.

The older I get, the more I'm able to narrow it down. First it was $10M (because why not?), then $5M, and recently i find myself thinking just as long as I don't have to worry about U.S medical bills.

Funny enough, I bet some of you reading this will think maybe $10M is where you will feel comfortable enough to not worry about medical bills. American healthcare system sucks ⚽, let's just leave it at that. It has THE MOST convoluted ecosystem I've ever seen from insurance, to providers, to patients, and to anyone in the ancillary services. Ironically, most would want to work in the healthcare system due to its stability and well paid status.

I can write pages about how much this system sucks. What can we do about it right? Well, one person in particular did stir up the pot with the insurance world. I still don't know who that is, he/she might have very reliable alibi, who knows?

I've been helping my mom navigate through this treacherous medical insurance scene since I was 16 and I can say this system still managed to surprise me every time. She's been paying to insurance premium on average $5000 a year for 16 years, totaling about $80,000. Yet every time we go to the doctor, we still have to pay deductible, copay, and out of pocket cost on top of that.

I know this insurance is meant to cover you in case there's emergencies procedures but don't we all have the right to live healthy? Just because I'm not dying right now doesn't mean I'm currently living a quality life. Google "insulin rationing" and see what harrowing results show up. It just breaks my heart to see people having to suffers because of this ridiculous and cruel system.

Just raise my taxes, I don't care, and give us UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE. We've already paid so much in the system already. I don't know why I have insurance just to search for cheaper cash option provider because $35 is much cheaper than $120 doctor visit to renew my prescription.

I'm not hopeful that I'll see universal health care in my lifetime but I do have hope that at least my great-great-grand children will.

That being said, I do want to end this on a happy note. I do feel a bit better letting this out and IT IS very cathartic to write to the void. At this point, you might be wondering, "What about you?" "How much is enough for you?" To that I say

$10 millions because F American Healthcare. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
